amakaba

NoS
Racines

OUR

MISSION

Amakaba is growing around 3 trinities: EARTH, BODY and SKY.

EARTH

Amakaba is a call to hear the songs of the earth, to honor her rhythm, to protect her soils and wisdoms, to create intimacy with the forest.

BODY

Our bodies speak. Our ancestors speak to us through them, through body memory, moves and pains. Taking care of ourselves and our bodies is also caring for our lineages and the generations to come.

SKY

Amakaba is inspired by the mysteries and mystics of the universe. We celebrate the equinoxes & solstices or gather to observe the sky through the telescope or sit to listen to the elders’ stories.

OUR ROOTS

The roots of the project

Amakaba came to life from Tabita Rezaire. She has always been called by cocoa and knew she wanted to connect to this beautiful tree and fruits.

This is how after studying agriculture, she started an adventure to find the land that will welcome Amakaba and its dreams.

Lent by the Collectivité de Guyane, the current Amakaba land is located at the top of Mont-Mahury in Rémire-Montjoly, French Gaiana. In the middle of the luxurious Amazionan forest, it gathers two wonderful cocoa plantations, together with banana plantations and medicinal plants.

Amakaba is grateful for its team of volunteers, permanent or temp workers, interns and freelances.

We are always looking for help whereas it is for planting, making soil grow, being part of an event, transforming cocoa,...
